Classics Plus grew from a kid helping in his dad’s garage into a family-run shop that has been part of North Fond du Lac since 1988.
Mike Freund grew up watching his dad, Dick, and his dad’s friends work on classic cars. He started helping when he was only 10 years old and never really left the car scene.
In the early 1980s, Mike began restoring cars in his dad’s garage at home. The business later moved to North Fond du Lac in 1988, where Classics Plus has continued to grow around the same thing it started with: a love for old cars and the work it takes to bring them back.
Today, Mike’s two kids, Nick Freund and Kasi Freund, are part of the business and work at the shop. That makes three generations of the Freund family tied together by classic cars.
Classics Plus is built around long-term relationships. Customers become friends, and many become like family.
If a previous customer needs help maintaining a car years later, the shop is still there for them.
Quality is a huge part of the work. The goal is to do the job right and build something everyone involved can be proud of.
Cars have always been about more than the shop. They are about the people, shows, swaps and community around them.
